How do you find a seat to take an ACT if no seats are available?

After receiving a frantic email from a high school counselor who was just informed by students that all ACT test sites were full for the June and July test dates in our area, we did some research. If you have a student who still plans to register, they need to play around with the various combinations of ACT test options, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, they need to select WITH WRITING. Here is what our research has shown:
*If they register for paper with writing, there are June options (late fee applies).
*If they register for computer with writing and science, there are June options(late fee applies).
*If they register for paper with writing, there are July options.
This is the loophole: no one wants writing, so many of those test slots remain open...for now. The key is to play around with the combinations of testing by adding writing.
REMEMBER: The July 12 ACT is the last time you can take the ACT in its current format. After July 12, it will only be the new enhanced ACT test for September 6 and beyond for both paper and computer modalities.
